Our Story: A Legacy of Leadership in Asset-Based Lending

1986–1999 | Laying the Foundation

Founded in 1986 by Donald F. Clarke, ABLC emerged with a clear purpose: to deliver expert asset-based lending (ABL) solutions rooted in integrity, precision, and partnership. In its early years, ABLC built its reputation by providing high-quality field examinations and consulting services to financial institutions across the United States. As the industry evolved, so did ABLC—becoming a trusted advisor to lenders navigating the complexities of secured lending.

2000–2010 | Expanding Expertise and Reach

During this period, ABLC expanded its operations internationally and deepened its service offerings, supporting cross-border transactions and broadening its capabilities in risk assessment, underwriting, and credit strategy. The firm’s influence grew through its involvement in training and education, with Donald F. Clarke emerging as a globally recognized instructor and thought leader in the field.

2011–2021 | Driving Impact Through Innovation

As asset-based lending gained broader recognition as a mainstream financing tool, ABLC continued to lead through innovation and high-impact client partnerships. During Covid, the firm refined its methodologies, enhanced its monitoring services, and deepened its relationships with top-tier banks and financial institutions. ABLC’s role in training and industry education expanded, preparing a new generation of ABL professionals through seminars and corporate training.

2022–Present | Advancing the Future of ABL

In 2022, ABLC launched the Asset-Based Lending Institute (ABLI)a milestone reflecting its commitment to building the future of ABL through accredited, career-advanced education.
